The first call for the URBAN INNOVATIVE ACTIONS initiative is now open

16/12/2015

The General Directorate for Regional and Urban Policy launched its first call for the URBAN INNOVATIVE ACTIONS initiative on Tuesday 15 December 2015. The call is worth €80 million in total and will be focused on the following four topics:

  • Energy transition
  • Urban Poverty (with a focus on deprived urban neighborhoods)
  • The inclusion of migrants and refugees
  • Jobs and skills in the local economy.

Four information events will be held in Brussels, Riga, Rome and Krakow in January-February 2016 to inform stakeholders better on the content of the call and on completing applications-proposals.

The first conference will be held in Brussels on Wednesday 13 January 2015. You can register at the following link: www.uia-initiative.eu/en/brussels-applicant-seminar. Registration for the other 3 events will be opened in the coming days.

The Urban Innovative Actions initiative has been created to test new approaches to the challenges faced by urban authorities.  The total budget is €371 million over the period 2015-2020. Projects will be selected through calls for proposals with an ERDF contribution which shall not exceed €5 million per project, a co-financing rate of maximum 80% and duration of three years maximum.
