Greece was the first of the member-states to complete the Management and Control System for all the programmes of the PA 2014-2020

8/12/2015

The Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism announced that after sustained and intense efforts, it managed to complete all the necessary procedures on time so that Greece is now the only EU member-state, amongst the 28 member-states, to have completed the Management & Control System for all the PA 2014-2020 programmes.

The approval of the Management & Control System, with the positive opinion of the Financial Audit Committee of the Ministry of Finance and submission to the EU services paves the way for Greece to submit Operational Programme payment requests related to the new Programme(PA) to the EU and as a result for additional European funds to flow to Greece.

At the same time, within the following days, the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism, will launch a call for choosing an Intermediate Body to handle four calls, which have been pre-announced, as well as all the entrepreneurship actions under the Competitiveness-Entrepreneurship-Innovation (EPAnEK) Operational Programme of the PA 2014-2020. The call for these actions concerning entrepreneurship does not depend on the prior selection of the IB, as the calls can be launched at the same time as the IB selection process.
This marks the completion of the activation phase of the new PA, which sets as a priority to boost employment with the purpose of stimulating Greece’s growth prospects as a whole.
